UniKidz in the Ichthusschool is located on the Louis Davidsstraat in Amsterdam Nieuw-West. At this location, we will offer out-of-school care (BSO) from 6 May 2025. After the summer holidays (August 2025), we will also offer half-day early childhood education (VVE) at the new location on the Louis Davidsstraat. With these groups for 2 to 4-year-olds, UniKidz builds a strong bridge to education in cooperation with the primary school.

We encourage our children's development by offering age-appropriate activities both indoors and on the adjacent spacious playground. We ensure a nice balance of activities according to our four science-based labels FitKidz (sports & exercise), SkillsKidz (making & creating), SoulKidz (with heart & soul) and MindKidz (development & education). Besides the activities, there is of course still plenty of opportunity for the children to relax or rest.

Early childhood education at UniKidz in the Ichthus School

This age phase - between 2 and 4 years - is incredibly fun. The children have now learned basic skills and are curious about the world around them. Your child makes great strides in social-emotional development, develops new motor skills, becomes potty-trained and vocabulary and language skills grow enormously. At the same time, toddler puberty sets in and the word no comes up regularly. In short, a great age to expand the activities in our activity programme.

Out-of-school care at UniKidz in the Ichthus School

Activities play a major role within UniKidz. Through our activities, children are encouraged to discover and further develop their talents.

• FitKidz focuses on sports and exercise. The children are introduced to numerous sports and exercise activities.
• SkillsKidz is all about making and creating. In other words, getting creative with your hands in the workshop, the theatre or the cooking studio.
• SoulKidz focuses on culture, yoga, theatre and dance.
• With MindKidz, children gain insight into how things work and are created in the special STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering And Mathematics) Makerspace.

But activities are also offered off-site on a structural basis. Your swimming certificate? Exactly, get it at UniKidz. Horseback riding? Certainly, at UniKidz. We work closely with entrepreneurs, sports clubs, associations and local residents.
