Safe and nurturing childcare

Parents need the assurance that their child is cared for in a secure, nurturing environment filled with love and attention. During childcare hours, our pedagogical professionals provide daily care, guidance, and support. From this safe foundation, children are encouraged to explore the world around them, gain new experiences, and learn how to interact with other children.

Creating a safe and nurturing environment is a shared effort between pedagogical professionals, children, and the space in which they spend their time. Having consistent pedagogical professionals within a group ensures continuity and predictability, which are essential for healthy attachment. Children become familiar with the people who guide them each day and feel secure enough to develop freely. A child-friendly and stimulating environment also contributes to children’s curiosity, sense of discovery, and overall well-being.

Pedagogical policy

The pedagogical policy plan has been established for the childcare centers of UniKidz. In addition, each location has its own pedagogical work plan. The pedagogical policy reflects UniKidz’s vision on child development and upbringing. It outlines the guidelines and working methods that ensure a safe, loving, and stimulating environment.

The policy is evaluated at least once a year and adjusted where necessary, so that it continues to align with daily practice and the way we interact with children. We do this together with our professionals and parents. In this way, we continuously safeguard the quality of our childcare.

Safety and health policy

In addition to pedagogical quality, we believe it is equally important that children are in a physically safe and healthy environment. That is why UniKidz has developed a comprehensive safety and health policy. This policy describes how we minimize risks, how we act in unsafe situations, and how we actively promote a healthy living environment.

This includes the safe design of spaces, hygiene guidelines, handling illness and medication, accident prevention, and creating a healthy daily structure with sufficient opportunities for movement and rest.

Like the pedagogical policy, the safety and health policy is evaluated annually and updated when necessary. In this way, we comply with legal requirements and provide an environment in which children can play, explore, and grow safely.
